# DV4CUL

Urban freight and the rise of last-mile operations significantly impact congestion, space usage, and emissions, reducing the quality of life in cities and increasing delivery costs, thus risking supply chain viability.

Demand and supply are atomized, largely relying on SMEs or independent workers who lack the tools, funding, and mindset to cope with operational, business, and governance challenges. Data from various sources, often in disparate systems, are crucial for operations and strategic decisions. Most stakeholders are not equipped with IT system solutions and have limited awareness of the data value chain.

DV4CUL addresses these challenges with i4Trust, enabling IT tools for strategic decisions in capillary logistics and raising awareness of the potential of data exploitation.

The DV4CUL solution leverages FIWARE smart data models and linked data to simplify data exchange and customise controls. The use of policies and the [iSHARE Participant Registry](https://trustbok.ishare.eu/apply-ishare/participant-registry) provides a standardised way to manage the identities of different data producers and consumers, making the solution robust and scalable.

At the same time, using FIWARE Context Broker and Kong simplifies all processes related to data access. The high-level DV4CUL structure includes a capillary IT platform with the digital twin, Keyrock and iSHARE components for user identity management, and Kong with the Context Broker for secure, customizable data access.
