Enabling Data Services Consumption to Optimise Energy Inputs
Climate change has a significant impact on the Agrifood sector, rendering traditional farming practices inadequate in coping with changing weather patterns and their effects on crops and livestock health.
Farmers are responding by investing in digital tools to mitigate weather-related challenges. IoT has enabled low-cost sensor systems that remotely feed data to cloud applications and algorithms, to alert farmers of upcoming challenges.
However, this digital transformation introduces significant challenges in data interpretation, ownership, and access. AgriSpace4Trust addresses these challenges by creating data hubs. These hubs use data models adhering to FIWARE architecture and the iSHARE Trust Framework to ensure access validation, authorisation, and policy management.
With the support of SensorGage (SG), AgriSpace4Trust has deployed and operated the required i4Trust Building Blocks for data sharing. SG ensures data consistency and quality according to iSHARE-defined thresholds, improving data marketplace value and GDPR compliance.
AgriSpace4Trust transforms the Agrifood sector by using context brokers and smart models (TRL6 to TRL8) to enhance dataset comparability and discoverability. The iSHARE specification ensures the protection of data ownership, respect for accessibility rights, and accountability in data consumption.
